Can Plus and Free users get ChatGPT dots?

If you’re on ChatGPT Plus, Go or Free, you won’t find dots in your account yet. That’s by design, not a rollout delay. This page lays out exactly what OpenAI has said, then gives our editorial view on whether upgrading makes sense, kept separate so you can tell the two apart.

The ChatGPT pricing page points the same way. It lists Free, Go, Plus and Pro as personal plans, and “Dot, your always-on agent” appears only under Pro. In the feature comparison, the Dot row is checked only in the Pro column among personal plans.

What “expand dots to more users soon” does and doesn’t mean

OpenAI’s sentence is short, and it’s easy to read more into it than it says.

• It doesn’t name Plus. “More users” could mean more plans, more countries, or both. The only exclusion OpenAI has named explicitly is Pro in the EEA, Switzerland and UK.
• It doesn’t give a date. “Soon” is the only timing OpenAI has offered.
• It doesn’t mention a price. OpenAI has said that in the future you’ll be able to add more dots and scale their speed or workload, but hasn’t priced any of it. See pricing.

We won’t predict whether Plus gets dots. When OpenAI announces an expansion, we’ll log it on the updates page and change this page the same day we can verify it.

Is upgrading to Pro worth it for dots?

Everything in this section is our opinion, not OpenAI guidance. It’s based only on what OpenAI has published about dots, and it’s meant to help you think the decision through, not to make it for you.

For teams: Business Premium and Enterprise

If you want dots for work rather than personal use, a personal Pro upgrade isn’t the only route.

• Business Premium includes dots across all supported ChatGPT regions, per OpenAI’s help center. It’s the only launch plan OpenAI describes as covering all supported ChatGPT regions.
• Enterprise workspaces, including Edu and Healthcare according to the announcement, can try dots as a beta. It’s off by default, so an admin has to turn it on. See Enterprise admin setup.
