ChatGPT dots not showing up: what to check

If you can’t find dots in ChatGPT, the cause is almost always one of a short list of eligibility rules or rollout timing. Work through the checks below in order. Each one is based on what OpenAI has published, and each tells you what to do if it applies to you.

Check these in order

1. Your plan. If you are on Pro, Business Premium or Enterprise, continue. If you are on Plus, Go or Free, then dots are not part of your plan today. OpenAI’s pricing page lists Dot only under Pro among personal plans, and the announcement names Pro, Business Premium and Enterprise. See dots for Plus users.
2. Your age. If you are under 18, then dots are not available to you yet. OpenAI’s release notes limit the rollout to users aged 18 and older.
3. Your region. If you are on Pro in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the UK, then dots are not available at launch. OpenAI says Pro access excludes those markets. If you are on Business Premium, then region should not be the blocker: it is available across all supported ChatGPT regions.
4. Your workspace admin (Enterprise only). If you use an Enterprise workspace, including Edu and Healthcare, then an admin has to enable the beta first. OpenAI says it is initially turned off by default. Ask your admin. See Enterprise and teams.
5. Your device. If you are looking on your phone or on mobile web, then switch to a computer. You create a dot in the ChatGPT desktop app, which is also available on Windows, or in ChatGPT on desktop web. You cannot currently create one on mobile, and mobile web is not supported.
6. Rollout timing. If everything above checks out, then wait. OpenAI says dots are rolling out gradually and access “may take several days to reach your account.”
7. New features in general. If you see some dots features but not others, then that may also be the rollout. The help center carries a banner saying DevDay features are rolling out gradually and some “may not be available to your account yet.”

Under 18	Dots are not yet available to users under 18.
On a phone or mobile web	Create your dot from the desktop app or desktop web first. See creating your dot.
You have a dot, but no texting option	Texting is a limited beta for some US Pro users only. See texting your dot.

OpenAI’s sources name Business Premium specifically and don’t address standard Business plans. If you are on a Business plan without Premium, check with your workspace admin or OpenAI support.

What won’t help

• Reinstalling or updating the mobile app. Creating a dot is desktop-only, so no mobile fix will add a create option. After setup, OpenAI says you can talk to your dot in the mobile app when mobile access is available.
• Trying mobile web instead. OpenAI says dots are not supported on mobile web.
• Switching between Plus, Go and Free. Among personal plans, only Pro lists Dot on the pricing page.
• Waiting if you are ineligible. Rollout timing only matters once plan, age, region and device all check out.
