OpenAI launches dots at DevDay 2026

Dots start rolling out to Pro (outside the EEA, Switzerland and the UK) and Business Premium users; Enterprise gets an admin-enabled beta. Dots usage won't count toward plan allowances for the next month.

Dots are always-on agents in ChatGPT, powered by GPT-6 Astra, each with its own cloud computer.
Rollout is gradual: Pro users in markets excluding the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the UK, and Business Premium users in all supported ChatGPT regions. Enterprise (including Edu and Healthcare) can try a beta once a workspace admin enables it; it is off by default.
Users must be 18 or older. Dots are created in the ChatGPT desktop app or on desktop web, then available in the mobile app.
Your first dot is included in Pro and Business Premium at no extra cost. For the next month, dots usage won’t count toward eligible plan allowances; OpenAI says it will share usage terms for each plan after that.
Texting is a limited beta for Pro users in the US. OpenAI also previewed specialist dots for organizations, starting with focused enterprise pilots.
Launch documentation includes a privacy, security and safety FAQ: you can’t yet view or delete individual dot memories (deleting your dot is the only way to clear its context), and the most sensitive actions, such as changing a password or transferring money, always come back to you.
